WHO WE ARE
Githurai Community Projects is a Community Empowerment Program which was founded in the year 2012 on a spirit of volunteerism and it implements on short-term and long-term development programs.
Its the platform of legal organizations and broadest network of voluntary of Non-Governmental Organizations and has a unique professional credibility concerning key development topics primarily active and engaged in the areas of ;
- Child Education (Orphaned and Vulnerable Children - O.V.C's)
- Disabled Persons
- Economic empowerment
- Environmental Conservation
The Platform's efforts is overseen and governed by an independent board of respected community leaders and managed by its Founder through a leadership team drawn from professional disciplines and who have unwavering reputation among the community at large.
The programs are sustainable because all funds are well administered and are the drive engine of the projects.
With long presence in and close collaboration with marginalized people, G.C.P. has dependable and trusted methods of reducing suffering and working
towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty
within Githurai-Kimbo Division, Ruiru Constituency, Kiambu County in Kenya, East Africa.
Thus, our main objective is to improve economic household security as an absolute priority for those living on the margins of survival and more resilient and better placed to cope when the worst happens.
The Platforms aims and roles are;
-To improve G.C.P's contribution to development cooperation by promoting the exchange experiences, ideas and information amongst its
members between networks of G.C.P.'s organizations.
- Influence policy making in the area of development cooperation.
- Raise public awareness about issues related to development assistance.
- Contact point for the coordination of policy initiatives and recommendations.
- Represent the common interests of its member organization and provide services for other interested actors in the areas related to G.C.P's
development cooperation and policies.
- To implement and oversee the working of the projects.
- Provides a forum for consultation and cooperation between its members and helps them speak with one voice on development issues.
Our GOAL/OBJECTIVE: Is to ensure that people
living in extreme poverty are able to meet their basic
needs, achieve their rights and manage their developments.
Our VISION: Is informed by a vision
for change. We in vision a village in which no-one lives in poverty, fear or oppression, justice, democracy and rights ; in which all have access
to a decent standard of living, the opportunities
and chances essential to a long, healthy and creative;
and in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Our MISSION: Is to help people living
in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their
lives that last and spread without on going support
from Githurai Community Projects platform.

to long and short terms developments are based upon on to respond
quickly, creatively and effectively to people in need.
Our STRENGTH: Our ability to facilitate
to individuals and groups to ensure greatest impact
on the ground. This facilitation is a key component
on how we operate.
Githurai Community Projects platform is dedicated to
creating change through hard work. This is why we love grassroots
organizing, you find the people most dedicated to our Cause and with their help we can make a huge difference through serving the under served.
In other words, we primarily serve the under served targeting all gender in the community and therefore empowering youth, women and men in equal measure for the greater good of the community.
More so, we target an audience of >65% or more economically under served relative to the average standards of the target geographical area.
The support and the funds we seek will increase our base reserves and will enable our programs to participate in the workforce thus sustaining and creating an enabling environment.
